TRG Front Sway Bar Links Porsche 996 C2 99-04

Vivid Racing carries products for high end street cars and competition race cars from The Racers Group (TRG). TRG offers these front adjustable sway bar links for the Porsche 996 C2 to be used with the OEM GT3 front sway bar. Utilizing a high quality CNC machined aluminum center section, TRG uses compeition Heim Joints for long life and performance. The TRG front sway bar links are sold in a pair and include all hardware necessary for installation. Works with aftermarket suspension from JIC, JRZ, Bilstein, Moton, and more.


The list price on the upgrade is around $320.00 but from forums around the web I have read its worth every penny. The sway bar gives the car a more rigid definition, which in turns enables for much more control.

Factory aero for your 911 Turbo


Porsche announced that a new factory developed aero kit is available for the 997 Turbo. If you're placing a new car order, adding the kit will tack an additional $4,500 to the bottom line.

The added expense gets you a new lip spoiler and a new engine cover which incorporates a fixed rear wing. Developed in Porsche's wind tunnel, the kit reduces lift while leaving the car's overall drag coefficient unchanged. Plus, the subtle hint of whale tail it adds appearance-wise is plenty cool.

Q & A with Porsche Club of America


While browsing through some Q & A files on the "Porsche Club of America's" website I found one post explaining the exact problem that I am experiencing. When engaging the motor at a cold start some guy named Jp asked the tech why his motor would give a one to two second squeal. I have been having this problem for about a month or two and my best guess would be the starter but thats not what they think.


The response back to the question:"Wow, that sounds terrible. Good job on the recording & upload. Yes it could be one of the pullies, but not necessarily... could be the water pump, alternator, or something else. If it is still under its 2 year warranty, I'd take it back. If not, I think you would want to get your mechanics opinion. If you don't have one, this might be the time to find a good one. I am not sure what the best way is to narrow this down, but it might take a stethoscope. Whatever it is may still be making some noise even after startup. But first, while you have that belt off, see if you can get any rough feel or slight noise by turning each wheel that the belt runs on. With the engine off obviously. Let us know what you find. This didn't answer my question but I found the website extremely helpful. I now am in the process of setting up an appointment at the dealership.

The All New Gt2!


Recently Porsche unveiled its revision of the historical speed demon Gt2. Keeping pace with previous versions the car wont disappoint anyone. Certainly not me!



The power unit of the new 911 GT2 is based on the six-cylinder boxer engine of the 911 Turbo, with air supply by two exhaust gas turbochargers featuring variable turbine geometry (VTG). The 3.6-litre boxer engine achieves its maximum output of 530 bhp (390 kW) at
6500 rpm, with maximum torque of 680 Newton-metres maintained consistently between 2,200 and 4,500 rpm. With its unladen weight of 1,440 kg or 3,175 lb, finally, the 911 GT2 offers a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.72 kg/6.00 lb per horsepower.

The new tire is balanced and replaced on the car. For two hundred some dollars I wish I could have actually have felt some kind of performance upgrade. Unfortunately it will only not look absolutely hideous with a red spare tire on. Thank god for that, it was killing me! Over the weekend I looked at a few new Porsche's and actually got to take one home for the day. 2007 Carrera 4s. The car I am talking about was discussed in a previous post. This car makes mine look dated which I hate but the motors power felt almost exactly the same. Besides flashy brake calipers and a sick looking spoiler the cars are very comparable. Oh yeah, except for the tens of thousands of dollars that separate the two. Hahaha. If I keep working for the next 12 years and not spend a cent I should be able to afford it. Here's a pic.....

"Porsche Race International," is holding an open event at Maple Grove race track. I have entered my Carrera in for show and slalom events. The date for the meet is in April and before then I should have new wheels and the Bilstien suspension featured on the right hand side of the page. Until then I am still working on getting this new tire. Apparently, the Falken series tire is extremely hard to find. By Monday everything should be in order.

The Falken series performance tire is an upgrade for my model Porsche. When I got them put on when purchasing the car I didn't think much of cost.
After last weeks little, "man hole protruding 4 inches escapade" I have quickly learned why they call them "performance" tires. At $211.00 bucks these rubber treads should be making my car faster or something! I guess I will settle for the advancements in handling.

Bitter Sweet

Yesterday, (September 22, 2006) I had a bitter/super sweet time in a 2006 carrera sport. Thing was SICKKKKKK. I went to a dealership in Ocean City NJ where the owner knows my family. I brought my car by to show him it and he threw me a set of keys. Little did I know I was going to be doing more damage then good for myself. haha....After driving such a new beautiful car getting into my 2002 didn't feel as good. Don't get me wrong I love my baby it's just seeing something so nice and knowing no matter how many times you wax the car it will never look like that. The car had a few more Hp's then mine and it handled a little tighter but overall my 2002 stacks up very close.

After all that I got to thinking... After I get the new bumper and new headlights on mine, I am probably going to list it on Auto Trader or Ebay. If I get the number I'm looking for I will probably upgrade to either an 2003 or 2004 Turbo model. So I am excited. Until then.....

I purchased this car in late 2006. Since the start I have absolutely loved her and I plan to own a Porsche for the rest of my life. The vehicle, stock, has 300hp at 6800 rpms. Only weighing 2900 lbs and with 260 ft lbs of torque the car, "moves," to say the least. The engine is positioned in the rear(behind the rear axle) allowing for the perfect weight distribution through turns, enabling the car to feel like, "it is on rails." I love the way the car is as it sits, but I have plans for it........

With intake alone I will gain 35 hp. Add a set of headers and an exhaust system and I will be looking at somewhere around an 80hp increase! After these upgrades I will put a Bilstein suspension kit and a Revo power chip. When this is all done I will be driving a MONSTER. I can't wait!
